After Netherlands destroyed the defending World Cup champions, Spain, in their first game, many believed their second game against the lesser Australia would be a walk in the park. Netherlands won 5-1, whilst Australia lost to Chile. However, Australia gave Chile a battle, and they went ome better by doing it against the in form Netherlands.

Two brilliant first half goals left the fans in awe at the talents on display. Arjen Robben netted the opener for the Netherlands, but seconds later Tim Cahill netted a stunning goal, and one that's already a top contender to be the goal of the tournament. Cahill's experience was often Australia's crutch, but the general belief is their young players are rapidly improving and will take over after this tournament.

Both Cahill and Robin van Persie received a yellow card and will now miss the third and final group game. In the second half Australia were awarded a penalty, which they converted. However, soon after the Dutch tied the game, and soon after an Australian goalkeeping error ensured that Louis van Gaal's men had a 3-2 lead to hold on to, which they were able to do. Van Persie will now be out until the knockout stage, where he will look to add to his 3 goals so far. Could he become the Golden Boot winner?

What's next for these two teams? Both had the fans suggesting they'd seen one of the best games of the 2014 World Cup. Can this level of excitement be topped? With qualification all but sewn up, an Netherlands win the World Cup?
