The CW Network has been keeping the flow going, releasing featurettes for their upcoming Arrow spinoff. In this latest clip from The Flash, viewers get a scene between Iris West (Candice Patton) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).

In the DC Universe, Iris West has always been the love of Barry's life. In their timeline, the two will become married and their future is destined for a grandson named Bart Allen (Impulse). In the New 52 relaunch, West has feelings for him but Barry cannot reciprocate those emotions. It appears that the TV show will be following this storyline.

As reported here, the CW released a previous video featuring the scientific team of S.T.A.R. Labs. Tom Cavanagh plays Dr. Harrison Wells, the leader of this small band of geeky scientists. Cisco Ramone (Carlos Valdes) is the guy who designs the toys for the speedster. Caitlin Stone (Danielle Panabaker) is determined to figure out how Barry can move at super-speed. They may know something that Iris doesn't.

Patton describes how the relationship between Iris and Barry began, "They became really close after Barry moved in with her family after his Mom passed away. My father, Detective Joe West, took him in and we grew up together."

Check out Friend Zoned here:

Patton explains why Iris doesn't see the red speedster as a romantic interest, "They have been friends for so long. I think Iris may be a little aloof that Barry's had feelings for her for so long."

Even though they're not romatically involved, Iris will still be in danger when the Flash's enemies come to Central City.

The Flash will premiere Tuesdays at 8pm in the fall. Readers, what do you think of the "friend zone" in a relationship?
