It seems World Cup fever has got the best of many people, including One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson. The rich, successful singer has always supported British soccer club, Doncaster Rovers, and after a long process, today completed the move to become their official owner. Twenty-two-year-old Tomlinson will now live out his life-long dream of owning the team he supported as a boy.

He is no stranger to the club, however, as he has been to many matches, and even signed as a player, making an appearance for their reserve side recently. The move will be a marketing dream for his club, and it's one that might help financially push them in to the English Premier League. They currently sit two levels below that, but with the power One Direction have, who knows how far he can take them?

Many Doncaster fans were delighted, as they know they have a genuine fan who will have the club's best interests at heart, which is something many clubs fail to ever gain. How far can Louis take Doncaster, and will this push him away from One Direction? The star has built a huge reputation, as have the other band members, with rumours suggesting they could all, as many others have, eventually go their separate ways.

What links can Tomlinson create between his band and soccer club, and how can they help one another out? It's going to be exciting times ahead for Louis, One Direction and Doncaster Rovers. Perhaps the boys will perform at half-time on some of their games? Stranger things have happened.
