Taylor Swift Debuts New Cat, Instagram PHOTO: 'I Knew You Were Trouble' Singer Names Kitten After 'Law & Order SVU' Character, See Adorable Pictures

Taylor Swift is starting a love story with a furry feline friend.

The 24-year-old singer introduced the world to the newest addition to her family yesterday via Instagram. In the picture she posted, the all-white kitty is sitting on her lap looking adoringly up at her new owner.

When it comes to naming her animals, the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," singer draws inspiration from her favorite TV shows.

She captioned the photo, "Meet Olivia Benson." All of you Law & Order: SVU fans will get the reference that Swift named her new feline companion after Mariska Hargitay's character on the hit NBC series.

"I sit in my apartment and watch hours of that show," T. Swift told Teen Vogue about her fondness for the crime drama in 2011. "So I sort of feel like me and Olivia are BFFs."

Well now, she does have an Olivia that she can definitely be best friends with.

Swift literally has the cutest cat names in the world; Olivia joins Taylor's other cat, a 3-year-old named Meredith.

Meredith is a gray Scottish Fold cat, who you are sure to have spotted if you follow Swift on any social media sites. The inspiration for her name also is drawn from one of the country singer's favorite TV shows.

"Her name is Meredith- Meredith Grey because she's a gray cat, and because I love Grey's Anatomy," Taylor told Us Weekly, paying homage to Ellen Pompeo's character on the ABC series. "She's awesome. She's like one of those cats that give cats a good name. She doesn't hide under furniture and get weird around people. She's really friends and fun and she's perfect for the road because she doesn't ever get freaked out. So I'm really glad that she has a cool personality."

We for one can't wait to see pictures of Olivia and Meredith playing together.
