HBO will air Season 7 of True Blood, the show's final season, beginning on Sunday. But after the final 10 episodes air, could fans get more from the citizens of Bon Temps in the form of a musical?

Star Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill Compton on the show, and composer Nathan Barr have put together a musical version of the vampire series, according to The New York Daily News.

"I helped Nathan with some of the songs and we presented them to producers," Moyer said at the True Blood Season 7 premiere on Tuesday in Los Angeles alongside co-star and wife Anna Paquin. "It is really interesting what he is doing and the music is actually quite good."

Moyer said he would be happy to help Barr in a behind-the-scenes capacity, but he would not play Bill on Broadway despite the fact that he starred in NBC's highly-rated live broadcast of The Sound of Music last December alongside Carrie Underwood.

"Working in Broadway is tough and we have a young family here in L.A. And this stage show would be a younger man's role," said the 44-year-old Moyer. "It's time for me to move on from this now. I have loved every minute of it, but Anna and I are laying it to rest."

What do you think, True Blood fans? Could a musical based on the over-the-top vampire show really work? Who should play the lead characters in the production? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
