Actor Edgar Ramirez plays an unconventional priest exorcising demons in the horror/thriller, Deliver Us From Evil. If Marvel gets their way, Ramirez will continue to fight demons and bigger monsters in Doctor Strange.

If Marvel is in talks with Ramirez, it's possibly because of filmmaker Scott Derrickson. Since the actor and filmmaker have worked with each other on Deliver Us From Evil, the duo may reunite once more for this Marvel feature.

Ramirez teases to IGN, "We're talking. We've been talking."

As reported here, producer Kevin Fiege (Guardians of the Galaxy) explains why Doctor Strange is integral to the Marvel Universe, "There's a whole other side of the Marvel comics, which is that supernatural side - the inter-dimensional side of the Marvel universe, and Doctor Strange is, I believe, our entry point into that other realm, which has dozens of characters and storylines all of its own."

The Bourne Ultimatum actor joins a long wish list of casting choices. We also mentioned that the roundup already includes Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises), Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club), and Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek: Into Darkness). How does the Zero Dark Thirty star compare to these A-listers?

Though Leto is an Oscar winner, what works in Ramirez's favor is that he is an unknown actor. Audiences aren't going to be so focused on a huge star. Viewers will be more involved with the performance from the hungry thespian.
