Girl Meets World Spoilers: Did Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel Ever Date in Real Life?

Girl Meets World premiered Friday night to a whopping 5.2 million viewers, and the long-awaited Boy Meets World sequel series is officially underway. Cory and Topanga are now back on screen, and Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel dropped some interesting nuggets of information in a new interview.

The two spoke to E! Online, which asked if the two co-stars ever dated in real life. Fishel told the site that the two are extremely close, but in more of a brother-sister way:

"We've always been best friends and what is there not to love about Ben? He's obviously very handsome, he's very smart, he's very, very funny. Nobody makes me laugh more than Ben does. But Ben and I have always been just best friends and like family members."

Savage, however, was standing nearby when she answered that question and decided to have a little fun at her expense. You can check out the video here.

The actor also admitted that he, like most young males in America in the 1990s, had a crush on Topanga: "How could you not? She's a beautiful person inside and out. She's kind and smart and everyone loves her."
