The Netherlands weren't tipped to go far this summer, but the soon-to-be Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal, has got it all right at the 2014 World Cup. Netherlands were on the brink of a World Cup elimination at their hands of their Round of 16 opponent, Mexico, but they were able to come back and book their place as a quarter-finalist. Can they go on to win it all? Next up is a fixture against the winner of Costa Rica or Greece, which shouldn't be a tough fixture for them.

Mexico star Giovani Dos Santos scored the opening goal, but late strikes from Wesley Sneijder and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar ensured that the Dutch would progress. Arjen Robben was influential as usual and he remains a top contender to be the 'Player of the Tournament'. It would seem a formality for them to win their next match, meaning they'd be two matches away from lifting the 2014 World Cup. Perhaps Manchester United have made the move of the century in hiring veteran coach Van Gaal.

Mexico did better than many had expected, however, a lot of their fans and staff wanted to win it all, and they'll be left fuming as they find it hard to progress past this round. Arguably they should of sat back and defended the lead that would of sent them through, but they played freely, allowing the confident Dutch players to get themselves back in to the game.

Can Netherlands win it all, and have Manchester United struck lucky hiring their coach before this brilliant campaign?
