Josh Tomlin at times has been adored, loved and disliked by the Cleveland Indians and their fans, but after his pitching display in his latest match, he'll be given a free-pass for any future mistakes. The pitcher wasn't his usual self, as he threw a one-hitter, striking out 11 Seattle Mariners, as the Indians strolled to a 5-0 victory.

Tomlin missed most of last year due to his Tommy John surgery, but it appears he's recovered and improved his game, which is something many struggle to do after that surgery. There's nothing quite like pleasing the boss, and GM Chris Antonetti had this to say "He put on a pitching clinic. He was locking guys up with fastballs right down the middle because they were looking for his off-speed stuff"

Tomlin is now 5-5, and nearly added a no-hitter to his records, but Kyle Seager's leadoff single in the fifth inning ensured he's have to settle for a one-hitter instead. Tomlin didn't mind, though. He explained "That stuff doesn't really bother me. If I'm in the seventh inning and they don't have a hit, you know about it, but my main goal is to go out there and go as deep as I can and help the team win.You understand that you're doing something pretty special if it does go on that long. But I wasn't thinking about that stuff at all when that ball landed."

Can Tomlin use this to become the ace the Tribe so badly need, or was it a one-off that he'll be lucky to do again?
