Travel Channel superstar Adam Richman recently lost a whopping 70-pounds. The "Man v. Food" host showed-off his remarkable body transformation on Instagram - but in a rather controversial way.

Richman posted this viral weight loss photo on the popular social networking site just last week:

He captioned the image with:

Several fans were not amused, insisting that the term "thinspiration" is usually associated with people suffering from eating disorders (via TMZ). The post received lots of negative feedback. Check out this exclusive XOJane essay for more details. And Richman (being the blunt and outspoken guy that he is) responded to one "hater" with:

"Grab a razor blade and draw a bath.  I doubt anyone will miss you."

Again - not a funny insinuation.

He also made the comment "DILLIGAF" to another user, meaning "Does it look like I give a f*ck."

Shortly after Richman's suicide taunt and other rude remarks, the Travel Channel postponed the premiere of his new show, "Man Finds Food." Episodes were pulled just days before the show's July 2nd debut.

Richman's official Instagram account is now set to private (although he remains active on Twitter).

The 40-year-old television personality later released this apology to ABC News:

"I've long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight. I'm incredibly sorry to everyone I've hurt."

Meanwhile, NBC will still air another one of Richman's new shows later this month, "Food Fighters."
