Fans who watched the latest edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw saw Chris Jericho aka Y2J aka The Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-ah return to the company for the first time since July of last year. But how did WWE manage to mostly keep this a secret, given Jericho's beloved status and the ravenous consumption of rumors by fans?

Simple: they lied. The parties involved used tweets and Instagram posts to make it seem like Jericho was with his family on Monday, when really he was in Hartford for Raw. The latest rumors maintain he will stick around for about three months through Night of Champions on Sept. 21. Jericho's band, Fozzy, will release their sixth studio album on July 22, so a tour could be in the works in the fall once Jericho finishes this latest run.

The Wyatt Family attacked Jericho during his return on Monday night, which sets up a feud between Bray Wyatt and Y2J. Current rumors hold this would be one of the top four programs for SummerSlam on August 17. The others are John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella.

In more upsetting news, Daniel Bryan informed fans on the Money in the Bank pre-show that he might need a second neck surgery and that the strength in his arm has not returned yet. In essence, he said he's not sure when he'll be back -- but that when he is, he'll be better than ever.

It sounded like part of the story, but reports conflict on how much of Bryan's words were truth. Some reports said he would be back by Battleground this month, others by SummerSlam and still others by Night of Champions. But the latest rumor is that WWE expects Bryan to be on the shelf for another six months.
