Stars Pay Tribute to Country Legend Kitty Wells

Kitty Wells passed away on Monday (July 16) at the age of 92 after complications due to a stroke.  Country stars and fans mourned over the death of the country legend.

Wells helped to pioneer the path for female country singers to pursue their dreams to become superstars.

Many country artists took to their twitter to express their condolences.

"Kitty Wells will always be the greatest female country singer of all times. She was my hero. If I had never heard of Kitty Wells, I don't think I would have been a singer myself. I wanted to sound just like her, but as far as I am concerned, no one will ever be as great as Kitty Wells. She truly is the Queen of Country Music," wrote Loretta Lynn.

Martina McBride tweeted, "Sad to hear of the passing of the Queen of Country, Kitty Wells," while Wright offers, "Rest in peace Kitty Wells. The Queen of Country Music. What a great lady."

"We will always remember the legendary Kitty Wells. Our thoughts are with her loved ones," wrote Kellie Pickler.

Barbara Mandrell added, "Kitty Wells was every female country music performer's heroine. She led the way for all of us."

Charlie Daniels who thinks highly of Wells tweeted, "A Queen died today. The true Queen of country music,the lady who set the standard for all who followed . Rest in peace Kitty Wells."
