Vin Diesel provides the voice of the living tree creature Groot in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which hits theaters on Aug. 1. In a recent Facebook post, the actor reveals he has seen the latest cut of the movie and it blew him away.

"I have to share this... My youngest who is 3 yrs old, has never been to a movie theater before in his life," he wrote. "Today, I was invited by Disney and Marvel to see the latest cut of Guardians of the Galaxy and I was able to take the angels. WOW!!!!! To Marvel, Disney, the incredible cast and team and especially James Gunn... Thank you for making a GREAT MOVIE! It was amazing and will always be special, for it was the first film I was able to take my family to see and oh how they loved it."

Director James Gunn is putting the final strokes on the movie before he begins a promotional tour next week, so what Diesel saw might not even be the final product. Granted he is part of the project, but his strongly positive reaction is encouraging.

In other news, Gunn posted another GotG "pic of the day" on his Instagram page, and this latest one shows him on set on a Necrocraft, a vehicle used by Sakaaran soldiers. The Sakaaran were first introduced in the Planet Hulk comic.

This could be an indication that Marvel is gearing up for another Hulk solo movie based on Planet Hulk, despite Mark Ruffalo and the studio's statements to the contrary. For more on that story, click here.
