Carmelo Anthony, one of the best players the NBA, has not achieved the success he deserves at his first two teams, with the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. After opting out of his contract it confirmed he would test the NBA as a free agent. Could he stay in New York? With the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and LA Lakers all pursuing him, things are just getting started.

It's believed that Carmelo is trying to balance one final big pay-day, with a chance to contend for multiple NBA championships, similar to what his long-time friend and rival, LeBron James, has done. This week he has tested the market, visiting several teams. The star spent around 6 hours in Houston, but only 2 hours in Dallas, appearing to rule the Mavericks out of contention. However, could he of just been that impressed with the Mavericks' pitch?

Despite a poor season, it's believed with a healthy Kobe Bryant and their new draft selections, the Lakers are a heavy favorite. Kobe and Anthony could elevate one another's games, and in turn the Lakers are prepared to offer him a max-level contract valued at $97 million for a four-year stay. That's the most money he can receive, unless he stays a member of the Knicks, which is believed to be a front-runner for him, too.

Where should Carmelo sign, and is he worth the money he's asking for? Which of these teams can provide him with the ring he seeks?
