Arrow star Stephen Amell wrote a lengthy Facebook post earlier this week in which he teased some major secrets for San Diego Comic-Con 2014, as well as a major announcement next Tuesday.

In case you missed it, here's what Amell posted:

"You know I'm going to be at San Diego Comic-Con International this year, but you have no idea what I'm going to be doing. The Arrow panel on Friday evening is the literal tip of the iceberg. Feel free to speculate. There are (at least) 3 more things on my schedule. Big things. Needless to say, I plan on winning Comic-Con this year. Captain Style."

Fans, of course, immediately started commenting on Amell's post to speculate on what the actor could reveal during Comic-Con. Many fans are hopeful that Amell's version of the Green Arrow would somehow tie into the growing DC Cinematic Universe, and some fans guessed that the actor could announce his presence in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

But Amell went back to Facebook on Thursday to throw a wet blanket on this idea. "Hey Guys -- I appreciate all the support and enthusiasm, but not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I'm going to be in Batman V Superman. I'm not going to be in Batman V Superman."

He went on to say "playing Arrow on television isn't a consolation prize" and "we play the definitive version of our characters in the DC Universe." Of course, some fans still did not believe him even after his denial.

What do you think? Will Amell appear in Dawn of Justice? Let us know in the comments below.
