Yesterday's World Cup action was unlike anything we've seen before. Four in-form teams (Brazil, Colombia, France and Germany) went head-to-head to gain a place in the World Cup semi-finals. Arguably all four warranted a place, but there could only be two. Brazil were favoured as they are the host nation, and Germany were too, because of their dominant squad. Both teams won as expected, but the games were nail-biting, and tight affairs, and ones that could've so easily went a different way. Now Brazil and Germany will face one another to get to the World Cup final, but Neymar will play no part as he'll be missing through injury.

Brazil scored an early goal and a late goal, and despite a close encounter, it appeared to be a game that would go to the very end, however their goals appeared to end any Colombia hopes. Brazil started to relax and Colombia took advantage, winning and converting a penalty kick. For the next few minutes Colombia threw their all at the Brazil defense, but couldn't break them down once again, meaning the host nation advanced. However, Neymar was injured through a savage tackle, and it looks unlikely that he will see another minute of World Cup action.

Germany beat France through an early opening goal. Both teams threatened, but the Germans seem to always use their expertize to see a game out, and once again they did just that. Germany have played better than Brazil so far this summer, and despite Brazil's home advantage, it's Germany who will favoured in their semi-final clash, largely because of star player Neymar's absence.

Can Brazil beat Germany without Neymar?
