The man may be aiming for an Oscar with this performance.

In an interview with CBS's Anthony Mason, Robin Thicke defended his recently released album, Paula.  He answered all questions thrown at him but refused to talk about what actually happened between him and his wife.  The interview has a few surprises, including the fact that Thicke has never seen his 2013 Video Music Awards Performance.

"I have never watched it," said Thicke.  The rehearsal for the performance was more toned down, but he defended the performance by saying, "We all knew we were going to go out there to have some fun."  When questioned why he has never watched the now infamous performance, the singer said, "I just have no reason to."

On whether or not he was afraid to view the performance, he said, "I don't know. Actually, you know, some things are better left, you know, in the past."

When asked how he would react if his estranged wife Paula Patton followed his lead and released an album about him, he said, "I don't know what her album would be if she made one about me. I'm sure it would go much differently right now."  And despite all his public begging and pleading to his estranged wife, he dissed Patton by saying he didn't think he would listen to the hypothetical album.

The past year has been a tough one for the Blurred Lines singer, who said it's been "humbling."

Do you think this interview demonstrates a more humbled Thicke?  Or do you think he's exploiting his relationship for record sales?  Let us know in the comments below.
