Fans and critics alike approved of X-Men: Days of Future Past, but several pieces of it fell to the cutting room floor as director Bryan Singer chopped it down a bit. But producer Lauren Shuler Donner has confirmed on Twitter that a Director's Cut Blu-ray of the film is coming later this year.

The most noteworthy missing scenes featured Anna Paquin as Rogue, as the character was almost completely cut out of the movie. Singer cut an entire sequence in which Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart) rescue Rogue from the Sentinels. Another scene featured Rogue as she used her powers to help keep Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) mind in his younger body after he accidentally wounds Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page).

Another scene that seemed to be missing from the theatrical release featured Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) talking to Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Wolverine. It stands to reason that these and other scenes would appear on the Blu-ray.

In other news, Singer teased the sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, on Instagram with an image of the script. The monologue on the page, dated June 6, talks about a battle at the Nile River involving the Four Horsemen, who appeared in the post-credits scene of Days of Future Past alongside Apocalypse himself as he built the pyramids in Egypt. Check out the photo from Singer's Instagram here, which he created just to share the script page.

Will you purchase the Days of Future Past director's cut when it releases later this year? What do you think will be on the Blu-Ray? Let us know in the comments below.
