Little Mix just announced that they will no longer be touring the US on their "Salute" North American Tour.

The tour, which was announced in April, would have seen the girls performing 19 shows across the country in September and October in their first headlining tour in the states. The girls revealed at that time that this was a "dream come true."

However, sad news come from the UK band made up of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirlwall, who sent out three different cancellation messages on their social media sites.

The X-Factor winners took to their Twitter account to address their fans saying, "Another big sorry to our American mixers. We love you so much. This doesn't mean there won't be a tour it's just postponed for the importance of our album. We love you and we want to continue writing music that you love in which case we have to make time for studio! Please try to understand our decision, we promise to come out to see you all soon. Love Perrie, Jesy, Jade, and Leigh xxx."

The girls also took to their Instagram accounts to post a similar messages writing, "I think we need to remember that every decision we make is with our mixers in mind. We're not cancelling forever we're postponing, we could do the tour n let other people do the album for us but that's not what we're about, it isn't a little mix album if we're not writing or involved and that takes time J. We love our mixers more than anything else, we were just as disappointed but have to think of the long term and mixers all around the world."

They also released a statement on their website over the weekend saying, "We're so sorry to all the Mixers who bought tickets to come and see the show. As soon as the album is finished we promise to make plans to return to the US and perform for you all."

The band was formed when they won the eighth season of X-Factor UK back in 2011.

They have gone on to achieve record-breaking success in the United States after signing a record deal with Columbia Record. Their debut album made history when it became the best-selling album by a British girl group, a record that was held by the Spice Girl in the 90's.

Band members Leigh-Anne and Jesy told Reveal that the success they've experienced in the states has felt "very surreal." The went on to say, "It feels amazing. We just feel like we're in a little bit of a bubble at the moment. We're taking everything as it comes but we're just working really hard and we just want to get to the top!"
