Emma Watson was awarded a great new position as Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women, but this exciting announcement ended with the organization's website crashing almost immediately after the news broke.

"Being asked to serve as UN Women's Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling. The chance to make a real difference is not an opportunity that everyone is given and is one I have no intention of taking lightly. Women's rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life that I can't imagine an opportunity more exciting. I still have so much to learn, but as I progress I hope to bring more of my individual knowledge, experience and awareness to this role," the actress said of the recent honor, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the past, Emma had to take time off from schoolwork because of the attention she garnered for being a celebrity, and today was no different. Just after the announcement was made of her becoming the Goodwill Ambassador, the website for UN Women crashed from too much site traffic.

This might have been the first time for many Watson fans hearing about UN Women, so the rush to see what was up broke the website.

Congratulations to Emma and we hope that the UN Women website stays up during her reign!
