The rumours of LeBron James moving back to the Cleveland Cavaliers simply will not go away. The best player in the NBA is rumoured to be deciding between a return to his first team or his last team, the Miami Heat. The Cavaliers, however, have started to make bold moves that suggest they know more than the rest of the world does. Today they gutted their roster with a huge trade, sending Jarrett Jack, Tyler Zeller and Sergey Karasev to the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets respectively. Now the Cavaliers have plenty of cap room to sign LeBron James to a maximum contract, and to pursue his favoured veterans, Mike Miller and Ray Allen.

Last night rumours surfaced that LeBron had met with Nike and hours later they'd apparently bought a ton of Cleveland-based billboards. The rumour has since been dismissed, but today, the move the Cavaliers made, cannot be dismissed as easily. The Cavaliers gave away two promising players and a veteran for virtually nothing, other than the ability to clear cap space. Why would the Cavaliers want that much, I wonder? The amount cleared could see James and some of his chosen talents join an already talent-loaded Cavaliers roster.

It's hard to think that James would burn the Cavaliers for the second time in four years, and this move would go down as one of the biggest mistakes in NBA history if the Cavaliers weren't to land James. So, it would suggest they are very, very confident the 'King' will return to his throne, and that's why they're meeting the rumoured "tasks" LeBron lined up before he makes a return home.

Is LeBron heading back to Cleveland? Has the NBA's future ever been so uncertain?
