Arrow star Stephen Amell teased last week that he had a major announcement to make about his plans for San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Now, we know his role thanks to a Warner Bros. press release.

The studio announced Amell would serve as master of ceremonies when WB presents A Night of DC Entertainment on Saturday, July 26 at Comic-Con.

"As previously announced, WBTV and DC Entertainment are teaming up for a three-hour (8:00-11:00 p.m.) special event in Hall H designed for DC Comics fans and featuring some of DC Comics' greatest characters," the press release states. "Amell will preside over the world premiere screening of Gotham and the complete pilot screening of The Flash, and will give fans a look at footage from the Constantine pilot and a sneak peek at season three of Arrow. He will also introduce select stars and producers from each of the four series."

Amell wrote a lengthy Facebook post last week in which he teased his role:

"You know I'm going to be at San Diego Comic-Con International this year, but you have no idea what I'm going to be doing. The Arrow panel on Friday evening is the literal tip of the iceberg. Feel free to speculate. There are (at least) 3 more things on my schedule. Big things. Needless to say, I plan on winning Comic-Con this year. Captain Style."

Fans immediately started commenting on Amell's post to speculate on what the actor could reveal during Comic-Con. Many fans had been (and probably still are) hopeful that Amell's version of the Green Arrow would somehow tie into the growing DC Cinematic Universe, and some fans guessed that the actor could announce his presence in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actor later denied the validity of the speculation.
