With writer/artist Skottie Young's Rocket Raccoon series already taking the comic book industry by storm, Marvel Comics adds to the excitement with the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel will be presenting a brand new exclusive variant cover of the first issue drawn by the legendary Jeff Smith (Bones).

In the Guardians of the Galaxy series, Rocket Raccoon has been widely considered to be the "Wolverine" of the group. Not a raccoon as his name supposedly says, the alien creature doesn't know here he comes from. The only thing the expert marksman knows how to do is kill.

With the starship pilot getting his own series, it only adds to the excitement about the blockbuster movie. With Young headlining the comic, readers will see the wanted fugitive on the run from the law. The first installment features the Guardian member blasting away at his enemies with a huge rocket launcher.

Smith, the indie creator of the classic Bone series, will be lending his drawing pen for the variant. The RASL brings his cartoony style, depicting the bromance between Groot and his raccoon-looking buddy. This is an awesome presentation of the duo in action.

Interested buyers will be able to grab the variant cover at this year's Comic-Con. Make sure to be at Marvel's booth (#2329) because there will only be a limited supply there. The Marvel shop will have the must-have issue for $10.00.

Readers can pick up Jeff Smith's cover of Rocket Raccoon #1 at San Diego Comic-Con. Comic book fans, will you be picking up variant?
