Celebs Pay Tribute to Colorado Shooting 'Batman' Movie Victims

Denver, Colorado fell victim to a tragic shooting that occurred at the "The Dark Knight Rises" showing on Early Friday morning (7/10).  Reports by the Aurora Police Department reported more than 70 victims of which 12 have been confirmed dead, 50 wounded and 10 in unknown conditions.

The nation has responded to this tragic event including the President Barack Obama who released a statement.

"Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado ... We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded. As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family."

Celebrities have also voiced their opinions on the mass shooting.

One Republic expressed, "God help the families of the victims in the Colorado mass shooting this morning. So tired of evil like this existing in the world"

"My heart goes out to all the people affected in the Aurora, CO shooting. May God be with that town and their families..." wrote Eva Longoria.

Jessica Simpson took to her twitter to say, "Praying for the victims and families of those involved in the shooting in Colorado. My heart is broken. So awful. God Bless..."

Julianne Hough tweeted, "My love & prayers are with all the families that have been affected by the horrible, unspeakable torment from last nights shooting! #BeKind"

Idol winner Phillip Phillips expressed his condolences, "Just read about the shooting in Denver. Breaks my heart to see that happen. My prayers are out to the family&friends. We need PEACE everyone!"

Billy Ray Cyrus tweeted, "Oh no ! Just woke up and turned on the news "14 dead 50 hurt in Batman movie shooting". Praying for victims. So sorry and sad."

Denver Colorado is no stranger to gun shootings, but we sure hope this will be the last one the people of the city experiences.
