Actress and former Miss America Vanessa Williams made a shocking revelation during an interview for Oprah's Master Class - while on vacation with her family, 10-year-old Williams was molested by an 18-year-old family friend.

Williams first opened up about the experience in her 2012 memoir, You Have No Idea, but on Master Class she went into greater detail.

Her traumatic experience happened the summer before fifth grade. Williams and her family travelled to California to stay with friends. It was there, the older woman molested Williams.

"She was one of the cool girls," said Williams. "She made you want to feel like you were a grown-up."

During the trip, the girl came into the room where Williams was sleeping and made a strange request. "She told me to lie down on the floor. She took my bottoms off and she said, 'Be quiet,'" Williams says. "She went down on me."

Williams didn't understand any of what was happening and was conflicted about the encounter. "I had no idea what it was, but I knew it felt good," she says.

"I knew it felt good, but was also something that was not supposed to be happening."

She says never had the courage to speak to her parents about the incident because the moment she and her family got home, another tragedy struck. "I saw my dad's face and his face was gray. And I just found out that his brother had died," said Williams. "That was a family drama. I never really talked to my dad about it. I kind of suppressed it."

Williams feels the experience sexualized her at an early age and believes she would not have been as promiscuous as she was as a teen had the incident never occurred. "Had that not happened in my life and had I had an opportunity to have a normal courtship with a boyfriend at 16 or whatever... there wouldn't have been that shame that was always haunting me. It made me more sexually promiscuous and more sexually curious at a younger age than I should have been."
