The Gowanus, Brooklyn resident was carrying six glassine envelopes of cocaine, 20 painkillers, 10 morphine pills and one anxiety pill. McEnroe's dealer, Upper West Side resident Niro Meneses, 22, was carrying 13 glassine envelopes and three vials of the drug of cocaine.

McEnroe was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. He awaits arraignment while Meneses was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

The McEnroe family is no stranger to addiction and legal issues.

Mother Tatum struggled with substance abuse since the age of 14 and lost custody of her children to John in 1998, after she back into heroin abuse.

The embattled star continued on a downward spiral which culminated in 2008 after she was arrested trying to buy crack on the Lower East Side.

Tatum pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and told the judge she intended to stay away from drugs. She said, "I'm going back to my meetings and back to my life."

Tatum and John are parents to two other children, son Sean, 27, and daughter Emily, 23. McEnroe remarried Scandal singer Patty Smyth and the couple have two daughters, 18-year-old Anna and 15-year-old Ava. He is also stepfather to Smyth and singer ex Richard Hell's daughter Ruby, 28.

The elder McEnroe, nicknamed "Super Brat" for his angry outbursts on the court, won the U.S. Open three times and Wimbledon four times. Tatum was the youngest person to win as Oscar, for her debut role in 1973's Paper Moon, in which she starred with dad Ryan O' Neal
