After winning her Oscar for 12 Years Of Slave, Lupita Nyong'o reached another huge milestone by nailing her first Vogue cover. The photo spread didn't come easy for the Academy Award-winning actress as she had to conquer her fear of snakes.

The Non-Stop actress had to get used to the special effects in her upcoming Star Wars sequel. But for the fashion magazine's shoot, she had to deal with something a little too real. The Oscar winner had to pose for the camera, while a slithery and hissing snake crawled around her neck.

After delivering such a raw emotional performance in the period drama 12 Years A Slave, the Mexican-born Kenyan actress gives another riveting presentation. With steady nerves, the Jungle Book voice star holds the serpent with her bare hand.

I am incredibly impressed with this hard-working and brave actress. How many of you would have run out screaming? Not a lot of people can say they would've have kept their cool in that situation, even including action hero Indiana Jones!

Notice how the Stars Wars actress opens her eyes wide as the snake slides around freely. The movie star wasn't in any actual dange because there was an animal trainer paying careful attention. By the time the shoot is over, the frightened thespian runs off into the bushes.

Too bad the photos of Lupita Nyong'o and the snake aren't in the issue of Vogue. Readers, would you have been fearless like Nyong'o if you were that close to a serpent?
