Last night, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian attempted to win American hearts and minds during the debut of their reality show, LeAnn & Eddie, on VH-1. The question is, did they?

While they may have started to tell their side of the story, there were some thinly veiled barbs thrown at Eddie's ex, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, who is also the mother of his two sons.

For those who don't already know, TV actor Cibrian and country singer Rimes have been an item since they met on a Lifetime original movie in 2009. Both were married to other people at the time. Since then, there has been very private ugly stuff that has played out in a very public way between the threesome. (Rimes' ex has somewhat stayed out out the fray.)

The show starts with Rimes and Cibrian addressing the TV audience together, and the digs toward Glanville begin almost immediately.

"I have two kids, Mason and Jake, and they mean the world to me. But I think we should just get it out of the way now," said Cibrian.

"Our relationship did not quite start off like we had planned. It did make a few headlines," added LeAnn.

"We were both married to other people when we fell in love. I think most of you think that my wife is a homewrecker and a stalker," said Cibrian.

Later in the show as they discuss their privacy, they continue to aim words at Glanville. Rimes says, "It doesn't help that we have a third party in this situation that is just a mouthpiece. It doesn't matter if we say anything because she will be the one laughing about it."

"I think people will be smart enough to realize what she is doing and why she is doing it," said Eddie as the couple sat in tense silence.

Ouch! Are the couple clearing the air, or opening old wounds? Stay tuned!
