Rolling Stone Mick Jagger spoke briefly about L'Wren's Scott's suicide with Matt Lauer in an interview on Today to promote the James Brown biopic Get On Up, which he produced.

'I'm doing OK,' he said during an interview on the Today show, which aired on this morning, "It was difficult, you know, very hard year, but I got back into it by working on touring with the [Rolling] Stones in Europe, and doing other things, including this great movie."

Jagger told Lauer he received "a lot of support" from friends and family in the days and weeks after model/designer Scott committed suicide in New York in March, aged 49.

Jagger and Scott were together for 13 years. She ended her life as Jagger and the Stones started their tour of Australia. The tour was postponed and Jagger issued a statement at that time saying, "I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves... I will never forget her."

It seems that Jagger, with the help of family and friends, has bounced back from the tragedy somewhat - in June, it was discovered he was dating a 27-year-old dancer from the American Ballet Theater Company, Melanie Hamrick, after they were spotted together on the balcony of a hotel in Zurich by the paparazzi.

Jagger's film, Get On Up directed by Tate Taylor (The Help) and starring Chadwick Boseman, True Blood's Nelsan Ellis, The Help's Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer and SNL alum Dan Aykroyd, opens on August 1.
