In another strange twist in the ongoing Kasem family saga, Casey Kasem's body has disappeared from the Tacoma, Washington funeral home that was holding it, his daughter's rep said on Friday.

Danny Deraney told the Los Angeles Times the situation is "pure insanity" and confirmed the body was, in fact, missing. "It's sad that it's gotten to this point."

On Wednesday, a judge awarded Kasem's daughter Kerri an order of restraint against his second wife, Jean, in an attempt to prevent her from cremating or moving the radio icon's remains from the funeral home pending a possible autopsy. However, before the restraining order was issued, Jean filed a death certificate indicating Kasem's body should be moved to Montreal.

The Canadian funeral home has not yet received Kasem's body nor did they have his name in the system.

The Kasem kids -  Julie, Mike and Kerry - had no intention of battling with Jean in court over his burial and felt "at peace" after holding their own memorial for their dad, but said they wished Jean would honor their father's wishes and bury him in Glendale, California's Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Kerri only stepped in when she learned Jean had intended to have an autopsy done. She said, "I'm concerned about the results of any autopsy Jean Kasem may have commissioned and how they might be used. Consequently, I thought it would be best to ask the Washington court to allow me to have an autopsy conducted by a forensic pathologist of my own selection."

On Friday, the New York Daily News confirmed that Jean Kasem's arrangements for her late husband's remains to be interred in Canada were made prior to the judge's decision.

"My dad has nothing to do with Canada. He lived in Los Angeles for 45 years," Kerri Kasem. "It just once again proves that my stepmother is not acting in my father's best interest or respecting his wishes."
