After Dark Horse Comics terrified readers with their adaptation, FX continues to scare viewers with their live-action version of the vampire thriller, The Strain. Regularly seen in Guillermo Del Toro's movies, actor Doug Jones teases he will appear as a character that is guaranteed to shock audiences.

Though audiences may not recognize the face of the contortionist, they have seen him in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The gifted thespian is usually playing a non-human character and doused in heavy make-up.

Del Toro cast the former mime as Abe Sapien in Hellboy II: The Golden Army. In Pan's Labyrinth, movie-goers were frightened by his double roles as the giant Faun and the Pale Man. Now imagine Jones playing one of the bloodthirsty vampires in The Strain.

As reported here, FX's supernatural TV show is stylishly gory and visually captivating. In our first recap, a plane has suddenly arrived in New York with all its passengers dead. Though he suspects something is up, CDC specialist Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) doesn't realize he is actually watching the beginning stages of a vampire plague.

In an interview with Latino Review, the Crimson Peak actor reveals he was supposed to show up in the pilot but had to cancel because of his commitment to Falling Skies.

Jones teases his upcoming role in the season finale,"When season one is done, sometime in September or October, you'll be able to see me in a guest cameo role in a visually stunning moment and you'll go 'ahhh!' We're going to see more of him and his kind in future episodes."

[More Spoilers] If you have read the Dark Horse comic, it may or may not have to do with Gus, played by Miguel Gomez. [Spoilers End]

The Strain airs Sundays on FX at 10pm. Readers, are you excited to see Doug Jones show up?
