TMZ Sports reports outspoken comedian D.L. Hughley believes pop icon Rihanna was lying about accidentally tweeting "FreePalistine" and she was likely doing so because of the social media pressure.

He said of the tweets, "I don't think they know what it means, but I think that people's reaction to it is amazing. I guess that Dwight Howard did it, but I think that its amazing how people deem that a racist political statement. I don't know that I would go that far, and I don't know that people should care what anybody else thinks. Obviously, people have a right to express themselves and I don't think it should be shouted down whether I agree with it or not."

When asked if he believed the tweets were accidental, he said, "No. I think that they did it on purpose, found out there were repercussions and don't like dealing with them."

Both Rihanna and Houston Rocket Dwight Howard received backlash this week for tweeting "Free Palistine." Rihanna said she tweeted the words by accident and Howard released a statement saying, "previous tweet was a mistake. I have never commented on international politics and never will" and then, "I apologize if I offended anyone with my previous tweet, it was a mistake!"

NBA star Metta World Peace also received condemnation for his desire to see the conflict end and tweeted, "I'm not taking sides, I'm saying stop the BS and love the children. How can you do arts and craft when bombs and guns going off[?]"
