In Fox's Batman prequel stories, Gotham will explore the original stories of the major heroes and villains in the popular DC Comics lineup. While viewers can expect to see the Penguin, the Riddler, and Poison Ivy, comic book fans should be prepared to see more baddies from the comic book page appearing on their TV screens.

Showrunner Bruno Heller revealed to IGN which of the infamous Batman villains will show up during its first season. In the Dark Knight mythology, Doctor Hugo Strange is a brilliant but insane psychology who knows his true identity. Strange has engineered the Monster Men as his own personal army.

Heller explains how Strange's involvement leads to the introduction of the infamous criminal institution, Arkham Asylum, ""Hugo Strange is going to pop up because we're going to start dealing with how Arkham was created and why Arkham was created in the way that it was."

In the DC Universe, Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face, are best friends, but don't expect them to be childhood buddies in the TV series.

The Gotham showrunner explains the decision to change Dent's age range, "We're playing Harvey Dent slightly older. He's more Gordon's age in this telling. One of the things to avoid in order not to tell a high school story -- which would be great. Heller continues, "But it's a different show on a different network, at a different time that I would not be a part of."

In the comics, we know Harvey Dent will end up becoming District Attorney. Since Gordon starts out as a rookie cop, we might be seeing Dent starting law school.

Fox will premiere Gotham at San Diego Comic-Con. Readers, excited to see Two-Face and Arkham Asylum in the TV series?
