Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Is Shazam AKA Captain Marvel For DC Universe [VIDEO] 'Hercules' Star Teases 'Just Say The Word'

After years of discussion and speculation, it looks like we finally have a solid idea as to which DC Universe character Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will portray on the big screen. Oddly enough, the Hercules actor was the one to leak the news with a pretty up-front hint in a new interview. Previous rumors suggested Lobo or John Stewart's The Green Lantern, but what did The Rock reveal this week?

"Just say the word," Johnson told Total Film in a new interview. What word, you ask? Well just think of how powerful words can be in the DC Universe and you might have your answer!

Clearly we already told you the almost confirmed character he's playing in the headline, so we'll assume your don't need to guess anymore!

Captain Marvel, better known as Shazam, is one of the most powerful superheroes in the DC Universe. In this interview, The Rock describes him quite well.

"There's a character out there that we're going to announce very soon, that I'm going to play," he laughed. "I'll just say this: he has the power of Superman ... and it's not Green Lantern, by the way."

From there, Johnson explains how he wanted to play John Stewart, but Ryan Reynolds's Green Lantern made that too difficult to pull off.

"He can throw down," he continued in his description of the new character before closing, with a smile: "Just say the word"
