George Clooney Celebrity Wedding Update - Hollywood Actor 'Marrying Up' With Amal Alamuddin

While many women would think that marrying George Clooney would be marrying up, the famous Hollywood actor says that when it comes to his upcoming nuptials to Amal Alamuddin that he is the one that is actually marrying up.

In an interview with Variety, Clooney can't help but gush when talking about his bride to be saying, "I'm marrying up."

The couple has been engaged since April of this year, but went public with their relationship in October of 2013. The couple hasn't picked a specific wedding date yet but they are hoping to get married in the fall.

Clooney and Alamuddin have been tabloid magnets since announcing their engagement. George recently spoke out on the false tabloid rumors about them, after the news site published an article saying that Amal's mother was unhappy over the wedding because of religious and cultural differences.

Clooney wrote a piece that he had published in USA Today referring to the Daily Mail article saying, "when they put my family and my friends in harm's way, they cross far beyond just a laughable tabloid and into the arena of inciting violence. They must be so very proud," he says sarcastically.

He also added, "We have family members all over the world, and the idea that someone would inflame any part of that world for the sole reason of selling papers should be criminal."

He comments on his remarks to Daily Mail in the interview with Variety saying, "It's just fun to slap those bad guys every once in a while, knock 'em around. Those are really bad guys and they do tend to tee off on everybody."

The happy couple is looking forward to their wedding and they recently just spend time together in Italy, where they were photographed out on a dinner date.
