Who is the world's most liked celebrity you may ask? Well it is none other than the Colombian beauty, Shakira.

The pop princess has just become the most liked person on Facebook, after amassing over 100 million fans.

In the process of setting the record she has also beaten out fellow pop artists Rihanna and Eminem who have 91.9 million and 89 million fans respectively.

The "La La La" singer reached out to all her fans on the social media site writing, "100 million fans on Facebook! Thank you so much for joining me and propelling me on this incredible journey. I couldn't do it without you all. Much love, Shak"

The Independent broke down the statistics for the 100 million fans, saying that they are mostly women (57%) who are single (58%) and three out of ten of them have the name Maria, with one in ten of the male fans are named Jose. The majority of her fans reside in Mexico City, Cairo, and Istanbul.

Her social media presence is very personal, as her team makes sure to update in different languages including English, Spanishe, German, French, and Russian, to keep all her fans abroad informed on the happenings with the singer.

Shakira used her Facebook page to document her journey at the World Cup this year, where she was a viewer as well as a performer; singing "La La La" during the closing ceremonies. This has no doubt gained her a good amount of followers.

The singer not only uses her site for merchandising and marketing by sharing links to purchase her music and other goodies, but she also shares images and video from her personal life. The photo that she posted of her husband, Gerard Pique, kissing their son Milan, is the singers most shared picture.

Congrats to Shakira!!
