A few years ago Wolverhampton Wanderers were an established English Premier League club, however, the past few years seen them suffer a demise nobody predicted. They not only suffered relegation to the Championship, but they then got relegated again, flying in to the third-tier of English football. However the club got rid of players and signed wisely, all before marching strongly to the League One title, which they won at a canter. Will Wolves be settling for stability now? Not so, it seems they believe they can make it back-to-back promotions following their back-to-back relegations.

Last season Wolves and Peterborough United were tipped to gain League One promotion, however the latter struggled to join them. On Tuesday 22 July the two went toe-to-toe again, knowing they'd get a good workout, and a good idea of where their team currently stand heading in to their upcoming campaigns. The game finished 2-2, fairly perhaps, after an even affair. Peterborough will be aiming for League One promotion, but although a division higher, it seems Wolves will be trying to emulate last seasons success, too.

When Mstars spoke to the Kenny Jackett after the game, he insisted he was happy with the performance, but he felt there are things his team must eradicate as soon as possible. The former Milwall manager isn't one to settle for stability, and when asked on his aims for the next 12 months, he confidently replied "Our aim is to get promoted." Not another word was uttered, but then again, could he of been more definitive if he tried? Unlikely.

Although Wolves have a major task on their hands, Peterborough United captain Jack Payne, who played against them last season, and in this friendly matched, shared the same belief as the Wolves boss. Payne explained "I think they can. I think they've got a good squad. If he adds a couple more players I don't see why not. They could be pushing for it, they're in that winning mentality and it's always good to be in that mode."

Can Wolves return to the EPL, and will they be facing the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea before long?
