When you see the convention-goers in cosplay, pay special attention to their personal costume. Most of them were probably sewn together by hand. It may take hours, even months, to put the whole thing together, but when those cosplayers step into the building, they are the stars.
Take for example Jack Sparrow, from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Not only do you need to have that dreadlocks hairstyle, you have to walk with that drunken swagger of his.You also need that loose, boozy talk that the swashbuckling character is known for.
Would you you look into the convention as your favorite villain or superhero? Would you walk amongst the crowd as Darth Vader or Spider-Man? One attendee dressed up as Slave Leia, from Return of the Jedi. In the sci-fi masterpiece, we saw the princess stir down to a metallic bikini. Of course, because this is summer, that eye-catching outfit would work very well.
