As San Diego Comic Con makes its way, Dark Horse Comics has one helluva announcement for attendees. Writer Chuck Palahnuik joins artist Cameron Stewart as they craft the upcoming sequel to the provocative novel, Fight Club.
Fight Club 2 continues the story of the unnamed narrator and his underground fighting club. The setting takes place 10 years after the shocking ending. You wouldn't believe it but the bruised and psychotic storyteller has a 9 year old kid named Junior.
For those who remember the David Fincher movie, Brad Pitt and Edward Norton played the same person, Tyler Durden. Because of the many names he carries, Tyler doesn't know his real name. Hi self-beatings cause the rise of Project Mayhem, a nihilistic terrorist group.
[Spoilers] If you read the book, the narrator ends up in a mental institution after putting a bullet into his head. The anarchists of Project Mayhem are waiting for him to wake up from his comatose to tell them what to do next. [End Spoilers]
USA Today got the scoop from the Fight Club author himself. The themes of the book is a tirade against fathers and now the novelist-turned-comic book writer explains, "Now to find myself at the age that my father was, when I was trashing him, made me want to revisit it from the father's perspective, and see if things were any better, and why it repeats like that."
Stewart, who has already been making a name for himself with Batgirl's upcoming reinvention, provides more artwork on his official Tumblr.
