There is no denying that Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead has terrified the minds of comic book fans and TV viewers. At the latest San Diego Comic Con, Cinemax has announced they want to continue spreading the fear with Kirkman's latest project, Outcast.

From Skybound, an imprint of Image Comics, the new horror series features demons as the opposing force of nature. In the first issue, Kyle Barnes had been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now that he needs answers, his investigation will cause the end of the world.

The Walking Dead scribe made the announcement on his official Twitter,"Big news Comic Con! Demons are the new Zombies! #outcast pilot into pre-production by Cinemax!"

After a multiple-network bidding war, it turns out the cable network is the clear winner. The popular comic book writer will be adapting the pilot script himself. Circle of Confusion's David Alpert will be executive pro ducting the TV project from start to finish.

Kirkman continues his excitement by tweeting, "Keep your ear to the ground in the coming weeks for more exciting Outcast TV news as we move closer to production of the pilot. #woohoo!"

No one from the cast has yet to be announced. It will be interesting to see who the executives pick as the main lead and co-stars. Comic book fans will be receiving the second issue of the horror comic this weekend, on July 26.
