At San Diego Comic-Con, attendees were treated to fantastic news about The Last of Us movie adaptation. With the project already underway, Maisie Willaims (Game of Thrones) is reportedly in talks to star in the feature film version of the survival horror videogame.

In the PlayStation videogame, players are thrown into a zombie apocalypse where most of the United States population has been diminished. Though her back-story is kept secret, a runaway teen named Ellie seems to be humanity's last chance at survival. On a secret mission, Joe must escort Ellie through the the infected wastelands and keep her alive while cannibalistic monsters are chasing after them.

As reported here, the Darkman filmmaker confirmed to audiences that he will be producing the feature film version. Neil Druckman, creator of the Naughty God horror game, is involved writing the screenplay. It turns out now gamers and  Games of Thrones fans have much to celebrate.

The Hollywood Reporter announces that the Spider-Man director and newbie screenwriter have both met with the Arya Stark. With the actress in talks with the two creative minds, we can presume the role they have in mind is the lead character, Ellie.

We can safely assume though this is more than just Hollywood rumors. Williams and Druckman have been talking to each other on their Twitter accounts.

Williams teases, "Well this had blown up!"

Druckman responds, "Wish you could've been there to hear the reaction."

Willaims sighs, "Me too."

If the young starlet is indeed playing Ellie, this horror movie definitely needs to happen.

Maisie Willaims is in talks  for The Last of Us movie. Readers, are you excited to see this videogame/horror flick?
