Just before the sci-fi summer blockbuster hits the big screens, The Guardians of the Galaxy will be making their presence known in the Disney Infinity: Marvel's Superheroes (2.0 Edition) videogame.  At San Diego Comic-Con, a new trailer was released fearing Marvel Comics' ragtag space team.

During the development of the Disney Infinity sequel, Avalanche Studios split the game itself into two different modes, the "Play Set" and the "Toybox." The "Play Set" mode is penned by writer Brian Michael Bendis, best known for the popular Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man. The thief Star-Lord, the warrior Gamora, the hired gun Rocket Raccon, the muscle Drax, and the tree monster Groot, all show up for their latest action-packed adventure in outer-space.

In the game's story, Ronan the Accuser and his army of Sakaarans are on the chase for the Guardians. We see spaceships zipping by and lasers as Star-Lord crashes his plane into the planet known as Knowhere. The tyrannical Ronan will stop at nothing until he gets back what was stolen from him.

In the video, gamers will find out how the furry comic book character gets his name. During the shoot-out, the anti-hero takes out both of his rocket launchers and starts blasting away. We see Groot getting into the action as he smashes the bad guys with his bare fists.

You can tell Bendis has spiced up the script with his witty sense of humor.

While being shot at by the baddies, Gamora asks, "What's our next move?"

Rocket responds, "That questions implies there was a plan to bring with."
