Legendary Entertainment sent film fans into a frenzy Sunday when it revealed it was working on Skull Island, which is also known as the home of King Kong (and other prehistoric monsters.)

MTV reports Legendary CEO Thomas Tull teased the audience at the end of the panel by saying, "We have been tinkering around with one thing," before showing a teaser that Mashable said,  "started with the camera panning over a roiling sea, leading to an island of dense jungle and obscured beasts. The shot tracked into a skull-shaped rock outcropping where something stirred - something big - and then rose, with the dark profile of a giant ape. He roared, he beat his chest, and the words 'Legendary's Skull Island' appeared."

The Legendary press release that went out today also confirmed the news: "Today in Hall H, Legendary also revealed it will be making a feature film based on the famed Skull Island, the cinematic origins of another classic beast, King Kong. Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. The film will be released on November 4, 2016."

King Kong first appeared to terrified audiences back in 1933, and most recently in a 2005 version with Peter Jackson at the helm.

Actors have not yet been cast, nor has a director been attached.

The Legendary panel also featured looks at Warcraft, Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak and a Godzilla sequel.
