As the Los Angeles Lakers continue to rebuild during this NBA offseason; following the acquisitions of Ed Davis, Jeremy Lin, and Carlos Boozer, it's widely thought that the historic franchise may be looking to add just a little extra talent to their roster.

The Lakers currently have 13 players on their roster to compliment the likes of Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, but the franchise has now been once again rumored to being linked to veteran free agent forward Michael Beasley, according Basketball Insiders' Alex Kennedy.

Kennedy reports that Beasley is currently being looked by several teams that include the Lakers. The consensus is that teams value Beasley's efficiency and maturity that he demonstrated just the year before with the Miami Heat.

Beasley, the former second overall pick by the Heat in the 2008 draft, hasn't fully lived up to expectations, but still can be a valuable asset to a depleted Lakers roster.

The former Kansas State product has been linked to the Lakers in numerous trade talks in the past, but now more than ever seems like the opportune time for the franchise to make their push to acquire him.

Beasley, however, will need to improve on his production after having career-lows last season in practically every statistical category. The 25-year-old veteran averaged about 7.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

After rarely seeing the floor last season, playing only 55 games and averaging just 15.1 minutes, Beasley will greatly need improvement in order to become a major asset to this current Lakers team should they make the push to acquire him.
