YouTube Star Troye Sivan Releases Single 'Happy Little Pill' -Tops iTunes Charts In 13 Countries [LISTEN]

He's conquered YouTube, now Troye Sivan is looking to captivate the music world with his single "Happy Little Pill."

The 19-year-old Aussie native and Internet celebrity is gearing up to releases an EP, titled TRXYE, after signing a deal with EMI Australia. "Pill" is the first single off of the August 15 release.

With the help of his 3 million YouTube channel followers and more than 91.4 million views, Sivan has achieve iTunes success with the single as it is currently charting at No. 26 on the iTunes charts sitting between Dierks Bentley and Lady Antebellum.

The EP, which will be released in the next few weeks, features 5 tracks and is already achieving success on the iTunes charts as the pre-order is at No. 9.

The singer also tweeted that the EP had hit No. 1 in 17 different countries and that the single was No. 1 in 13 countries.

The track is an electro pop song with very somber and emotional lyrics laid on top of a beat that has jazzy elements to it mixed with a dead house tone.

"I wrote this song during a bit of a rough time for someone super close to me, and for myself, and it still means as much to me as the day that I wrote it, and I'm still as in love with it as the day I wrote it," Troye wrote on his Tumblr page, and shared the song with fans.

According to Time, this isn't the first time that Troye has tried his hand at singing. He has appeared on StarSearch in the past and has also recorded EP's before, but this venture seems like he is ready to move from YouTube celebrity into a full-fledged singer.
