Drew Barrymore Responds To Half-Sister, Jessica Barrymore's Death: Was Death Caused By Suicide?

Actress Drew Barrymore's 47-year-old half-sister, Jessica Barrymore was found dead with several white pills dispersed inside her vehicle on an intersection along Hoover and 9th Street in San Diego.

According to ABC 10 News, witnesses say that the car was spotted parked around midnight and pedestrians believed the woman was "sleeping or waiting for someone," according to Oscar Sandoval.

Drew and Jessica share the same father, John Drew Barrymore and in a statement to The Daily News, the actress said: "Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I'm so incredibly sorry for their loss."

Unlike her famous sister, Jessica wasn't thrown into the limelight  at a young age and prior to her death worked as a store clerk at a Petco where coworkers say she was selfless and a wonderful person to be around.

"Jessica was always a helpful person," Dawn Scott  told ABC 10. "If we had any problems she would help us work things out. She would always put people first... She was one awesome, helpful person and she's someone we're all going to miss."

"Jessica always had a positive attitude at work, great with customers, us and animals," the co-worker added that she was also known for her positive nature, "Awesome sense of humor and always had a smile for you, very generous in heart and spirit. This world lost a wonderful human being for sure."

One fan @Fundassio tweeted, "Condolences @DrewBarrymore on the death of your sister. I can only imagine what you must be feeling during this difficult time. #RIPJessicaB."
