The movie adaptation of Lois Lowry's acclaimed book The Giver has a release date set for August 15, 2014, so that gives us plenty of time to look back at some of the trailers and promotional posters to get excited about the film. Though she has a small role, pop star Taylor Swift understands that her character, Rosemary, is important to the plot. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight this week, Swift opened up about her "emotionless" character and her music!

Taking some time off from filming, Swift's interview took place on set as you can tell from her blonde locks replaced by brown flowing hair. Taylor gushed about her costar Jeff Bridges, who plays the title character and Rosemary's father in the film. A short clip during this interview shows the two of them at the piano together in a touching moment.

"I ask all the time just, 'What can I do differently? Is there anything I can do differently.' And he's always like 'No that was great,'" she revealed. "So for me I'm just sort of like, 'Ok, awesome I'll just keep doing it like that then.'"

As the clip continues, we learn a bit more about Rosemary, and how different she is from Taylor - namely, her lack of emotions!

"To me emotion is such an important part of my life and now I guess my job. People wouldn't listen to my songs if they weren't heart broken or deeply affected and hurt and jilted and sad and bitter and all those wonderful things that I write songs about," Taylor admitted.
