Test footage for the yet-to-be-confirmed Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds leaked online this week and was quickly taken down. Then Blur Studios, the company responsible for this short teaser "trailer," posted the footage online for our viewing pleasure! Now more updates are coming, but for now, let's check in with the comic book character's creator, Rob Liefeld, about this incredible test footage.

Earlier this week, we reported on this leaked footage and also the Twitter confirmation from Liefeld that Reynolds did in fact play Deadpool via motion capture performance and that this teaser was set up to get studios involved. Check out our coverage here!

Meanwhile, if you don't want to take Liefeld's word on Twitter, here is a behind-the-scenes photo of Reynolds in mo-cap gear filming this test footage:

The image comes from Deadpool writer Rhett Reese, who was lucky to be on set during this momentous occasion.

In a new interview with Liefeld, the comic book creator gushed about Tim Miller, who directed the segment, and how exciting it all was to be a part of!

"Any technical questions would best be answered by the talented Mr. Tim Miller who directed the entire sequence. As for the entire existence of this footage, remember that it is appropriately referred to as 'test' footage for a reason," he explained. "Fox had released a relatively small budget for Tim to present his vision of the script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Tim is a master of the short film format, his Star Wars shorts and trailers for their video games are outstanding. Tim's Blur Studios is an amazing outfit, home to over 70 artists under his direction, it's Southern California's own Industrial Light and Magic."
