'Scandal' Star Kerry Washington Reveals She Wanted To Be Gwyneth Paltrow In High School On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Kerry Washington is the proud mama of a new baby girl with her husband Nnamdi Asomugha, and during her time on Jimmy Kimmel Live she talked to the host about motherhood and also a surprising connection she has to Gwyneth Paltrow.

The star of ABC's Scandal, who is usually very private in her personal life, revealed a few little tidbits about her new bundle of joy.

"I can't believe you had a baby and you look like this. It's against the rules," Kimmel joked with Washington. "Aw, you're kind. You're such a good friend," the actress responded, before adding, "You just had a baby!"

The talk show host joked back saying "Well, my wife went and had this one."

It seemed the Washington and Kimmel were very interested in switching their newborns to see if anyone in their families would be able to tell the difference.

"Your baby's name Isabelle and mine is Jane," the host stated. "We should swap them and see if our families notice!"

"I heard that your baby is named after your grandmother." The 37-year-old actress said. "Mine is too! So we could swap them."

Also during her time on the show they talked about fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow, whom the Scandal star said she has a childhood connection to.

"I was in an acappella singing group in high school," Kerry explained. "It was a nine-girl acappella singing group. We called ourselves Triple Trio. And when I was in junior high school I really wanted to be in Triple Trio because there was this really amazing senior named Gwyneth Paltrow and she was president of Triple Trio. So I really wanted to be president of Triple Trio one day."

The star does reveal that she got to live out her dream by become co-president of the glee club, revealing it was her "shining honor."
