Darkseid has become one of Superman's greatest nemeses in DC Comics, but fans of the fledgling DC Cinematic Universe should not expect to see the alien until much farther down the road, according to a new report.

Devin Faraci of Badass Digest reports Darkseid won't show up in a DC movie until the Justice League sequel at the earliest, which means he won't even make a cameo in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

"My sources tell me not to expect Darkseid in the DC movieverse until Justice League 2, so that means a Guardians [of the Galaxy] 2 in 2017 would definitely have the Eternals beating the New Gods to big screens," the report states.

Darkseid first appeared in the comics in 1970. The character searches for the Anti-Life Equation in order to essentially become a god and rule the universe. He also shoots "Omega Beams," lasers that zigzag and incinerate pretty much everything, out of his eyes.

In other Batman vs. Superman news, a local news station in Detroit captured some of the destruction from the set and uncovered the Wayne Enterprises logo amid some debris.

Batman-News also spotted some Instagram photos of Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa training in the same place by climbing a rock wall, though it's unclear if they were training together at the same time or if they just happened to be in the same spot on the same day.

What do you think, comic fans? When would be the right time to introduce Darkseid to the DC Cinematic Universe? Let us know in the comments below.
